Samuel Jeter family papers, 1794-1875 (bulk 1832-1875).

Seemingly unconnected to any other series, these records trace the Jeter family from Rowan Co., NC, through Greene Co., GA, where they appear on the 1820 census and in the county marriage records, to Chambers Co., AL. Letters document Samuel Jeter's connections to relatives in Florida and Henry Co., GA, while account books record a variety of information from slave birth dates to types of apples grown in his orchard. North Carolina military appointments and an address in favor of lower taxes are included.
